What Are Reclaimed Wood Vertical Gardens?

So what exactly are vertical gardens anyway? Simply put, a vertical garden or green wall is a method of growing plants using wall space instead of ground space, thereby saving you space!

We use reclaimed wood when we make ours because we believe in the idea of reducing, reusing and recycling to help our environment. The wood we use is perfectly safe for growing herbs and plants in your home – we ensure we only work with heat treated wood (in addition to being better for your home, it’s better for us too when we work with it!).

Reclaimed Wood Vertical Gardens For Your Home

If you live in an apartment or in a building without a garden, this need not be a barrier to you growing your own wholesome food or abundant decorative plants to offset suburban bleakness.

Besides enhancing the visual appeal of any room, having a vertical garden makes it easier to access your plants for tending and watering – no more bad backs from bending over ground-bound greenery. Just sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Reclaimed Wood Vertical Gardens For Your Office

Vertical gardening isn’t restricted to homes either. Your office or place of business can be greenified using this method, and can create a peaceful, organic focal point for your building which can prove to be an invaluable stress-reliever.

Indoor Vertical Gardens

Vertical gardens make a lot of sense in your house – the plans oxygenate your environment and can transform a drab room into a thing of wonder.

There are many plants that are suitable for indoor growing including:

  • Peace Lily
  • English Ivy
  • Snake Plant
  • Fern
  • Pothos
  • Dieffenbachia
  • Philodendron
  • Anthurium
  • Rex Begonia

Outdoor Vertical Gardens

Outdoor vertical gardens make perfect sense for a range of outdoor plants and growing your own herbs. There is nothing quite like the feeling of picking your own fresh herbs to incorporate in your meals – healthy and delicious!

An outdoor vertical garden will help improve biodiversity by creating a conducive environment for birds and insects to flock to your property. Listening to the dawn chorus will bring a smile to your face, and make all the effort worthwhile.

Some suggestions to start off your external vertical garden:

  • Rosemary
  • Basil
  • Thyme
  • Marjoram
  • Parsley
  • Chives
  • Coriander
  • Dill
  • Fennel
  • Succulents (also suitable for indoors)
  • Air Plants (also suitable for indoors)
